A man stepped out of the rain and stood before me. “I'm lost,” he said, the creases around his eyes and the one upturned corner of his mouth betraying a mischievous smile. “Well, I'm on a journey,” he corrected. “It's just I lost track of the route a while back. Also the destination.” He hurriedly took off his glasses, fogged as they were by the rain. “Here's the thing,” he continued, “I have something for you.” He reached into his coat pocket and offered a small item, wrapped in cloth.
